Teach Us to Pray
While there is no set formula or set of words that bring God’s healing, many people have asked for a “model” or “template” to help them begin praying for healing. In this sectional, the Rev. Dr. Bill Dasch will share various models of prayer including Luther’s’ description for praying for healing, praying God’s Word, prayers from the Psalms, and other models used at St. John Lutheran Church to help people begin praying for healing. Participants will need their Bibles as they learn to construct and pray their own prayers.',N'Rev. Dr. Bill Dasch is currently pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Mansfield, Texas. He has a passion for praying for healing with people and has taught seminars around the country on praying for healing. Pastor Bill attended Concordia College, Austin, Southwest Texas State University (B.S., 1969), now Texas State, Concordia Seminary, Springfield, (M. Div, 1973), East Texas Sate University (M.S. Ed.D 1989). He and Rev. Ron Rehrer did a 16 workshop tour in 9 days teaching 441 pastors and lay people about praying for healing in California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Sheila Dasch manages the gift shop at Methodist Hospital Mansfield. She has a B.A. in business marketing from Texas A & M, Commerce, Texas. She has been married to Pastor Bill for 23 years. They have two sons – Taylor and Tristen. Pastor also has a grown son, Scott, who lives in Florida.
Tristen, age 13, recently relapsed with leukemia, and after new treatment was told "we know of nothing that can kill this leukemia." Six days later, the doctors could find no leukemia in his blood. Pastor Bill and Sheila will share what they learned about prayer during this time.
