When God Doesn''t Heal

    Why doesn''t God always answer our prayers the way we want? Are there possible reasons God doesn''t heal? What does the Bible say? How do we cope with disappointment and despair when God seems to be "silent" in the face of our prayers? The problems of pain and suffering will be addressed. Ways of understanding these issues from a positive perspective will be shared. The topic of this workshop an be one of the most challenging to our faith.',N'Rev. Ron Rehrer is currently on the staff of the Pacific Southwest District where he serves as Director of Care for Professional Church Workers, Health Workers, and Healthy Leaders. He is a regional Mission and Ministry Facilitator. Pastor Ron graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, in 1973. He has also served as a worker priest to casino employees, South Lake Tahoe for CNH District, Lutheran Social Services working with alcohol, chemical dependency and family counseling; pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Los Angeles, CA (urban Afro-American ministry).

Pastor Ron is the author of “Now What Do I Do? A Guide for Youth in Alcohol and Drugs”, CPH, 19080; “If Life is Peaks and Valleys, Why Do I Always Fall Down in the Valley” (LEA monograph); “A Shameful Kind of Death” (Lutheran television study guide on suicide).

Pastor Ron did a sabbatical study in Prayer, Healing and Psychoneuroimmunology in 2000-2001. He and Pastor Bill Dasch have conducted workshops in California, Nevada, Arizona and Minnesota on “Reclaiming the Healing Ministry of Jesus!”.

Ron is married to a Lutheran school teacher, Meg, and they have two adult children and two grandchildren.
